We are looking for an experienced Engineering Project Accountant to join our team and play a key role in managing the financial health and performance of our projects. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills who can work collaboratively with project managers, accounting staff, and senior management to ensure each project meets financial targets.
Role:
The Engineering Project Accountant will oversee financial reporting and control for all engineering projects. This position is critical to ensuring projects adhere to budgets and timelines consistent with contractual obligations, supporting the company’s goals for profitability and customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and Report: Review and analyze project performance, including budget adherence, earned value, and project limits, and provide regular updates to management.
- Collaborate with Project Managers: Partner with project managers to ensure projects align with budgets, approved scopes, monthly forecasts and work-in-progress (WIP).
- Cost Control & Compliance: Oversee project costing, ensuring compliance with Time-Task Matrix, fee tracking, and client-specific requirements, including Sub-Consultant agreements.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct regular trend and variance analyses, including billing, revenue, spending, backlog, and forecasting, to identify risks and support proactive decision-making.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate project documentation for scope changes, purchase orders, and contract amendments to ensure compliance and transparency.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare Work-In-Progress (WIP) and backlog forecast reports in collaboration with project managers and accounting.
- Client Communication: Work with project managers to address client queries and adjustments related to billing, contract limits, and scope changes.
- Monthly Review Meetings: Participate in budget and performance review meetings with senior management, project managers, and accounting staff.
- Project Assistance: Provide additional support for corporate activities and special projects as assigned.
